In 2017, British young gun Lando Norris claimed the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. Last week he was confirmed as one of the two regular drivers for the McLaren F1 team for the next season.

The 18-year old’s career has been outstanding. Claiming his first titles in karting, including the win of the CIK-FIA KF World Championship at the age of 14, he also left his mark in motor racing straight away. At the end of 2016 he won the prestigious McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Award and was recruited into the McLaren Young Driver Programme shortly after.

With recent Formula 3 graduates such as Lance Stroll, Max Verstappen and even Daniel Ricciardo having all progressed through the category it is clear to see the importance of it's place on the pathway to Formula 1
