Mygale drivers competing in the Australian and Victorian Formula Ford Championships have even more reason to smile after a major prize announced today.
The top Mygale driver in each of the championships will receive a test in a Mygale Formula 3 car courtesy of the French manufacturer's Australian factory in an effort to provide a clear career path to Australian drivers looking to go to either V8 Supercars, Indy cars, or Formula 1.
Mygale's Greg Woodrow announced the prize and was excited to provide the opportunity to some of Australia's best up -and-coming talent.
"We've always been very proactive when it comes to promoting local talent,"said Woodrow.
"We've run the Arrow Rewards program for a few years now and that has grown into the biggest and best talent identification program that helps kids get out of karting and into Formula Ford.
"Anton DePasquale won that program last year and he's been doing great things in state level and national Formula Ford this year, so that program is working well.
"Now with our Formula 3 chassis proving to be very competitive in Australia and in Europe we've developed this program to give our drivers another step up the ladder when the time is right.
"We've been very successful with seating our drivers into competitive drives in the UK Formula Ford Championship, Formula Ford Festival and other major events overseas so this will give them a little bit of a leg up if they want to get into a wings and slicks category either here or overseas."
Mygale made it's Formula 3 debut in Australia earlier this year, with reigning Formula Ford champion Cameron Waters driving the M-07 chassis to its first podium position in Darwin.
"We've got a new car due in the next few days that will be the basis of our 2013 Formula 3 program," said Woodrow.
"It will be the same spec car that's taken four wins in the Italian F3 European Series so far this season so we'll be aiming to make a big impression in F3 next year.
"In the meantime we look forward to giving the leading Mygale drivers in Formula Ford the chance to get some experience in a wings and slicks car. This is a chance of a lifetime for these guys!
"It's also a great opportunity for us to evaluate some drivers and for them to gain experience in another category of car."
